ABOUT MONTAVILLA
Montavilla's name dates back to 1890 as Mount Tabor Village, later shortened to Montavilla from the 1892 streetcar stop labeled “Mt. Ta. Villa.” Streetcar service ended in 1948, but the nickname stuck.
The neighborhood’s heart is along SE Stark Street near 75th–82nd Avenues, home to local shops, restaurants, and the historic Academy Theater - a 1948 cinema restored in 2006 serving beer, wine, and pizza. Montavilla hosts an annual street fair, a farmers market, and Montavilla Park, featuring a Portland Timbers-sponsored futsal field.
This home boasts a Bike Score of 89, is less than half a mile from public transit, including a MAX stop, just four blocks to Montavilla Park, and under a mile from the shopping and dining hub on SE Stark Street.
